Hope in action

Stories of change

Behind every number is a child, a family, and a journey of transformation. We work to turn stories of vulnerability into stories of hope, dignity, and opportunity.

Education · Reintegration

From the street back to school

Kumalo, a 12-year-old boy, left his rural home and migrated to the city in search of survival. Living on the streets, he faced hunger, exploitation, and the loss of his education.

Through our outreach and child protection programme, Kumalo was identified and supported through case management services. We worked closely with his family to facilitate safe reunification and provided school materials and follow-up support.

Today, Kumalo is back in school, learning alongside his peers, and rebuilding his future with confidence and hope.

Livelihoods · Family resilience

A mother’s livelihood, a child’s future

Aysheke, a single mother, struggled to provide for her family. With limited income, her child was at risk of migrating to the city in search of work.

Through our family livelihood support programme, Aysheke received small business training and start-up support to establish a modest income-generating activity.

With improved financial stability, her child remains in school—safe at home and able to focus on learning rather than survival.

Skills that create safer pathways

Amado, a 17-year-old migrant youth, was unable to return to formal education. Without skills or opportunities, he faced an uncertain and risky future.

Through our vocational training programme, Amado gained practical skills in a local trade and received guidance on safe livelihood pathways.

Today he is earning a modest income, supporting himself with dignity, and building a safer and more stable future.
